Session Description:

RightsCon is the world’s leading multistakeholder summit on human rights in the digital age, convening government representatives, business leaders, technologists, human rights advocates, academics and general counsels from around the world to tackle pressing issues around technology and human rights. Next year, we are looking forward to hosting the 13th edition of RightsCon in Taipei, marking our first ever summit to be held in East Asia. As a leading democracy in the region, with global recognition for the freest online environment and greatest human freedom in Asia, we are excited to convene our global community in Taipei and to highlight Taiwan’s whole-of-society approach to human rights, rapidly growing presence of international NGOs and global tech companies as well as its vibrant civil society.

With a projected 10,000 participants, both in person and online, from 150 countries, it’s sure to be an impactful event covering a broad range of topics, including AI, internet access, governance, due diligence, digital security and more. In particular, as more tech companies do business around the world, RightsCon provides a space for the private sector to meet and engage with experts from civil society, academia, and government to understand the standards and principles that could impact their business operations.
